e Castillo Rojo was designed in 1923 by the architect Federico Bieregel as a home for Pedro Lehuedé and his family. In the late 1940s, the castle was purchased by Boris Krivoss, a Russian immigrant who transformed it into an artist’s residence and center for philosophical and creative exchange. From painters to dancers, musicians to chefs, these visitors and tenants gave the castle a bohemian and intriguing atmosphere. Throughout its incarnations, the Castillo Rojo has been an admired icon in Santiago, depicted in numerous architects’ and artists’ drawings. Now reborn as a premier boutique hotel, it is a destination for the distinguished traveler. Castillo Rojo offers 19 individually climate-controlled guest rooms, each with a private bath and high definition cable television. Each luxurious room is individually designed, with spectacular views of the snow capped Andes, downtown Bellavista, or our beautiful plaza. When you arrive at Hotel Castillo Rojo, our staff will greet you at the entrance and deliver your luggage to your room. Our guest rooms are located on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors, with the Bellavista suite alone located on the 5th floor. As a landmark building, there is no elevator. 24 HOURS RECEPTION Architects Jorge Ávila and Cecilia Wolff of Estudio A2 Arquitectos were responsible for renewing Hotel Boutique Castillo Rojo, restoring and adapting the original rooms of the house to function as a world-class hotel.
